Our verdict
Put it where both alarms are required anyway — the hallway outside the bedrooms is the classic spot — and it covers both hazards through an outage without a wire. For the level a generator's exhaust would reach first, like rooms next to the garage or a basement, the COBD10's ppm readout is the better instrument.
