- US EVs carry at least an 8-year / 100,000-mile battery warranty by federal law — many makers offer 10 years, and several states extend it further. A defective pack inside that window is replaced at no cost.
- Full pack failures are rare. Large fleet studies show most packs lose only a few percent of capacity over many years — they tend to fade gradually, not fail outright.
- The cost column is a single-assumption illustration, not a dealer quote. Remanufactured or used packs, module-level repairs, and falling cell prices can all change the real figure.
