What's good

- Indoor rated only
- The outlet must be on a 50 A breaker for 40 A charging — a 40 A range circuit is not enough
- For EV use, only the 4-wire 14-30 dryer version — a 3-wire 10-30 outlet has no equipment ground, and an EV charger may not use the neutral as one
Our verdict
For renters and full-panel houses, this is the lowest-effort legitimate route to more Level 2 charging: no electrician, no load calculation, no landlord negotiation — the outlet you already have, shared safely. The UL listing is what makes it recommendable where the knockoffs aren't.
