What's good
- MC4 is the common solar plug: with the right adapter cable it feeds most brands of power station
- Renogy documents both series and parallel wiring, so two panels can be combined to suit the station's input
- 45 W USB-C on the panel can charge a laptop or tablet directly
- Three kickstand angles help aim it at the sun from a balcony floor
What's not
- No adapter in the box: budget for an MC4-to-your-station cable
- IP65 is splash-resistant, a step below the Jackery panels' IP68
- Not bifacial, so a reflective balcony floor adds nothing
Our verdict
Buy this when the power station isn't a Jackery. The MC4 output works with most stations through the matching adapter cable, and its 21.6-volt open-circuit voltage is well under the 60-volt ceiling of stations such as the Explorer 1000 v2; check your own station's input range, as Renogy itself advises. It is the same 200-watt class and nearly the same weight as the SolarSaga 200W, and the same balcony rules apply: shade and a flat-against-the-railing mount cost more output than any efficiency rating gains.
